Moulay Hafid Elalamy began his journey in Canada, working in the insurance industry before ascending to the position of General Secretary of the ONA Group, now known as Al Mada. This group stands as Morocco's leading private industrial and financial group.
In 1995, Moulay Hafid Elalamy founded the Saham Group and subsequently established two influential companies: Saham Assurance and Majorel. These companies have become leaders in their respective sectors. Furthermore, he ventured into other significant areas with a strong social impact, such as education, real estate, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare.
Between 2006 and 2009, Moulay Hafid Elalamy served as the Chairman of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), further solidifying his influence in the business landscape.
From 2013 to 2021, he held the position of Morocco's Minister of Industry, Trade, Digital Transformation, and Green Economy, making him the longest-serving official in this role since 1955. During his tenure, he facilitated the creation of 50 industrial ecosystems and generated approximately 650,000 new jobs, contributing to a significant 9-point increase in the industry's share within Morocco's GDP.
In 2021, he resumed his leadership at the Saham Group, determined to continue expanding his businesses and exploring new avenues for diversification.
